The tragic story of Noelia Castillo Ramos, the 25-year-old who died by legal euthanasia earlier this year after a lengthy court battle, has taken another heartbreaking turn.
Noelia’s mother has now reportedly revealed that her daughter left behind a secret journal containing detailed accounts of the sexual assaults she said changed her life forever.
The journal in question has been handed to prosecutors in the hope that it will help identify those allegedly responsible and finally bring them to justice.
Noelia’s case drew international attention earlier this year after she fought for the legal right to end her life under Spain’s euthanasia laws. Devastating reports detailed how she had been left paraplegic following a suicide attempt in 2022, which came after the alleged assaults. The 25-year-old, who died by euthanasia in Spain in March 2026, said she had endured constant physical pain alongside psychological trauma.
Despite repeated legal challenges brought by her parents, the Spanish court upheld her decision, allowing the procedure to go ahead.
Her mother, Yolanda Ramos, now says handwritten notes left behind by her daughter could provide crucial information about her alleged attackers. Complaints filed with prosecutors assert that the journal describes multiple alleged assaults, including one involving a former partner and another in which Noelia said she was drugged before being assaulted by several men.
Because the incidents were never formally investigated at the time, her family hopes the newly submitted documents will give authorities enough evidence to reopen the search for those responsible.
According to Ramos, her daughter handed her the diary with the incriminating evidence on the day she died.
The Spanish Foundation of Christian Lawyers, representing Ramos, released part of the diary alongside a statement that read: “Noelia wrote this before she died. She didn’t want the truth to die with her, so she wrote about who raped her, how it happened, and how those aggressions destroyed her life.
“Today, those writings are in the hands of the prosecutor’s office, because even after her death, justice can still be done. Share this video, so that no one can say tomorrow that they didn’t know.”
Ramos also shared a video revealing why she had decided to file the complaints, stating: “I am the mother of Noelia Castillo. I have decided to denounce the men who did so much harm to my daughter. I do it because I feel that is what she wanted. Noelia spoke of the rapes on television.
“And the same day she died, she gave me her diary, and when I read it, I understood many things. I feel that my daughter wanted the whole truth to be known someday. That is why I have decided to go to the prosecutor’s office. Because I can’t stand idly by. My daughter is not going to be returned to me,
“And I do it for her. And also for other girls who have experienced the same thing, but don’t report it. And that is not fair. I just want justice. It’s the only thing I can do for my daughter, Noelia Castillo. That she will never be forgotten. Thank you for listening to me.”
Previous reports detailed how Noelia was sexually assaulted on two separate occasions — first by an ex-boyfriend, and later by three men while living in a state-run care facility in 2022.
Just days after the second attack, she attempted to take her own life by jumping from a fifth-floor window. The fall left her paralyzed from the waist down.
Noelia first applied for euthanasia more than a year ago, but the process was delayed by a lengthy legal battle led by her own father, Geronimo Castillo.
“My father saw me fall and couldn’t do anything. But after everything he’s done, I don’t feel sorry for him anymore,” she said in an interview with Y Ahora Sonsoles.
“He hasn’t respected my decision and he never will.”
In one of her final television interviews, Noelia spoke about the disagreement within her family over her decision to die by euthanasia.
The 25-year-old said: “None of my family is in favour of euthanasia, obviously, because I’m another pillar of the family. But what about the pain that I’ve suffered all of these years?”
She also added: “The happiness of a father or a mother should not supersede the happiness of a daughter.”
