Barron Trump, the youngest son of Donald and Melania Trump, is drawing attention online after a rare public appearance at the White House.
The 20-year-old’s older siblings – Donald Jr., 48, Eric, 42, Ivanka, 44, and Tiffany, 32 – have all played visible roles in their father’s public life. But despite his family’s years in the spotlight, Barron Trump has largely stayed out of the public eye throughout his father’s political career.
It’s well known that he prefers to keep a low profile and has largely been shielded from the intense media attention surrounding the family by his parents.
Lara Trump, the wife of Barron Trump’s older half-brother Eric Trump, recently spoke about his preference for staying out of the spotlight.
“I feel like he’s the sleeper,” Lara said, according to Tyla. “You want to hear more about Barron because you see less of him. And I think that’s kind of cool.
“I don’t know if he realizes the internet is ‘obsessed’ with him, but he knows that there’s a lot of interest, which is why he likes to lay low. That’s why he likes to play it cool. That’s why you don’t see him all the time.”
Barron Trump makes rare appearance at White House UFC event
But during a UFC event held on the White House lawn on Sunday, Barron made a rare public appearance. The event also coincided with Donald Trump’s 80th birthday.
According to a White House pool reporter, Barron appeared to take his role seriously and was seen greeting supporters who approached his father. He did not wear a tie to the outdoor event, instead opting for a jacket despite temperatures remaining around 80 degrees after sunset.
Following the event, many people online commented on Barron Trump’s appearance. According to VT, some social media users questioned whether it was really him after seeing images from the event.
One X user stated: “His face is fatter did he gain weight. He looks different?,” according to VT.
Another added: “Ain’t no way that’s Barron Trump.”
A third person commented, “You can definitely tell who his father is without needing an introduction.”
