Hayden Panettiere died on Sunday at age 36 after police found her in a South Carolina residence. Now, the 911 dispatch audio has revealed the possible cause of death.
The sudden death of Hayden Panettiere has taken another turn after 911 dispatch audio was obtained by Page Six. The Heroes actress was found unresponsive at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina, on Sunday afternoon. She was just 36 years old.
Emergency crews were called around 1:50 p.m. after a report of an “unidentified female” in “cardiac arrest.” According to dispatch audio obtained by Page Six, CPR was already underway within minutes of the emergency call.
Responders reportedly continued lifesaving efforts, including chest compressions and advanced cardiac life support. Panettiere was later pronounced dead at the scene.
But while the dispatch audio has led to reports that an overdose may have been involved, officials have not confirmed this as the cause of her death.
Police have said their preliminary investigation has found no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. The circumstances surrounding Panettiere’s death remain under investigation, and her official cause of death has not yet been released.

“Upon arrival, medical assistance was administered; however, the individual, later identified as Hayden Panettiere, was pronounced deceased at the scene,” the police said in a statement.
“The case is under investigation by the Greenville Police Department in conjunction with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. The preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. An acquaintance of Ms. Panettiere placed the 911 call.”
According to reports, a friend discovered Panettiere unresponsive inside the South Carolina residence before calling 911. The emergency response began shortly afterward, with first responders attempting to revive the actress.
The reference to a possible overdose in dispatch information has naturally raised questions. However, at this moment, it’s important to underline that this does not establish an official cause of death.
A history of addiction
Panettiere had previously been open about some of the struggles she faced throughout her life, including alcohol addiction and postpartum depression.
Earlier this year, in her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, she reflected on her personal life, difficult experiences, and journey toward recovery.
Rest in peace, Hayden Panettiere.
