Less than two weeks after Ben Affleck was slammed for his “divorce glow-up,” the online community is now mocking the newly-single superstar for “going bald.”

Since Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez announced their split in August 2024, both have been experiencing some post-relationship transformations.

JLo had LASIK eye surgery and says she’s “excited” to be “flying on her own,” while her ex has been experimenting with his hair follicles.

At the beginning of October, the Pearl Harbor star was seen with noticeably darker facial hair as he picked up his 15-year-old daughter, Seraphina, whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

Online users had a lot to say about his “divorce glow-up,” many suggesting the “dye job” on his beard looked “awful.”

“His hand shook, and he spilled the jar of henna on his beard,” writes one fan, while a second jokes, “Why’d he use a Sharpie though?”

A third pens, “It looks spray-painted on.”

On October 15, he was spotted grabbing lunch with his assistant, Gigi Fouquet. The Gone Girl star was wearing a wine-red fleece-lined jacket over a cream, partially unbuttoned shirt with a t-shirt underneath, and the black dye fading from his beard and hair.

The two-time Academy winner was later seen in the same outfit, getting out of a car and clutching an iced coffee as he made his way to the Griffin Club Los Angeles in Cheviot Hills.

According to TMZ, Affleck was at the club directing a beer commercial starring his pal Matt Damon and soccer star David Beckham.

But the online community showed little interest in what he was doing and instead expressed their curiosity over his appearance, some even commenting on his favorite accessory: coffee.

“Sorry ladies. The only thing Ben is faithful to is his iced coffee,” writes one fan on Instagram. A second shares, “He drinks a lot of coffee.” Adding to that, a third assumes that “there’s alcohol in that coffee.”

Excluding his beard from this conversation, online users engaged in a lively chat about his hair.  “What happened with his hair?” asks one user, to which a second jokes, “he stopped dyeing it.”

“Is he getting bald?” probes a third, while another suggests, “He looks like he got too hot and tried to take a bath but was still too hot, so he cut his own hair off.”

Others expressed similar opinions, with one speculating that “he’s going bald” because “the JLo glow really wore off quick.”

But not all fans teased the star’s appearance and instead offered their support. “Ben Garner Affleck looks better than ever,” quips one while another writes, “Handsome Ben, good job that you got out of that relationship you look awesome, healthy [and relaxed].”

“So happy to see him staying busy and focused on the future. Good luck!” writes a netizen while another offers, “He’s a great actor, very smart. He will do amazing things.”

People reports that while Affleck is working through the details of his divorce with Lopez, he’s staying busy with several projects, many that he’s producing through Artists Equity, a production company he co-owns with Matt Damon. Earlier this year, Affleck wrapped up filming for a sequel to his 2016 action movie The Accountant, which is set to be released in 2025.
