Armie Hammer is sharing the shocking details of how he ate an animal’s “warm” heart on a hunting trip.

The Call Me By Your Name star, 38, said he once took a bite of a living animal’s heart as a hunting “tradition” while speaking on The Louis Theroux Podcast in an episode released on Feb. 11.

“You don’t eat the whole heart. One of the traditions is you take a bite out of the heart,” Hammer said on the podcast, per E News. The actor recalled being “goad[ed] on” by his friends who had joined him on the hunting expedition.

“It’s sort of like an almost overly-charged male rite of passage when you go hunting for the first time,” Hammer explained. “Everyone that I know who went hunting for their first time had to do something similar.”

He added that he cut out the animal’s heart “not for the purpose of any cannibalism or any sexual gratification,” referring to his past allegations of cannibalistic fantasies.

Hammer said he never ate people though as he addressed the 2021 allegations on the podcast. “You know what you have to do to actually be a cannibal? You have to actually eat human flesh. So no,” he said, per E News.

Two of Hammer’s exes, Courtney Vucekovich and Julia Morrison, alleged in the 2022 documentary House of Hammer that the actor sent them messages detailing cannibalistic fantasies they claim he had about them.

In April 2023, following another woman’s rape accusation, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office confirmed that Hammer — who has denied any allegations of wrongdoing — was being investigated over claims of sexual assault. There ultimately was not sufficient evidence for a case and he was never charged.

Hammer also addressed the alleged text messages in his latest podcast interview, saying, “Sometimes when you’re involved with a person … and you guys are having sex and you are a bit of a provocateur … it’s fun to ruffle feathers, and it’s fun to push the envelope little by little,” per E News.

“Did I ever have any intention of cutting anything off of anyone or eating anything off of anyone? No. That was never really anything that I wanted,” he added.

Hammer’s appearance on the podcast comes after the actor is reportedly set to star in the film The Dark Knight, by German director Uwe Boll — it’s his second known project since the 2021 allegations and his return to Los Angeles in August.
