The phrase ”age is just a number” resonates with many of us.
Yet, when it comes to choosing a partner significantly older than yourself, it can stir quite a bit of controversy.
Just ask 25-year-old Miracle Pogue, who is happily married to her 86-year-old love, Charles.
Their love story has taken social media by storm, attracting global attention and sparking countless conversations. Now, Miracle shares that she and Charles are ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives together, igniting even more debate online.
Miracle and Charles, a retired real estate agent, first crossed paths while she was working at a laundromat – an ordinary setting that would lead to an extraordinary romance.
What began as a friendship soon blossomed into a deep and abiding love. Miracle discovered the age difference during a conversation when they asked each other their dates of birth. Charles mentioned that he was born in 1937.
Despite the strong bond they shared, Miracle’s family had their reservations about the relationship, concerned about the significant age difference.
However, their love only grew stronger. In 2020, Charles took a heartfelt step and proposed, getting down on one knee and asking Miracle to be his forever.
Her answer was a resounding yes, solidifying their commitment to each other and proving that love can thrive against all odds.
Last year, Miracle’s dream became a reality as she and Charles exchanged vows and began their journey as a married couple, living happily together.
An active presence on TikTok, Miracle loves sharing glimpses of their life together, posting photos and videos that celebrate their unique bond.
Through her vibrant updates, she invites others into their world, showcasing the joy and love they share, proving that true happiness knows no age.
“I never even placed his age, we just wanted to see how it went. I don’t care if he’s 100 or 55, I like him for him. I thought he was maybe 60 or 70 because he looks so good,” Miracle tells New York Post and adds. “He’s always up and active.”
While the Mississippi couple are thriving in their happiness together, not everyone around them has embraced their relationship with open arms.
Miracle reveals that her grandparents were supportive from the beginning, but her father took longer to come around. Navigating these familial dynamics has not been easy, but the couple remains steadfast in their love.
“If he didn’t come to my wedding, he would have lost me forever,” Miracle says. “I told him I needed his support and to walk me down the aisle. Once he got to meet Charles and talk to him, he loved him.”
Their journey highlights the importance of acceptance and understanding, even when faced with challenges. At the same time, they are well aware of the chatter surrounding their significant age difference. According to Miracle, she’s facing daily comments and criticism online.
Despite facing negativity and criticism, Miracle is more than ready to take the next step with her 86-year-old husband. In fact, they are excitedly planning to expand their family and have children together. Miracle wants to have two children with Charles because she wants him to enjoy the experience of raising another generation.
To make their dream a reality, they are considering IVF treatment.
“We went to an IVF clinic before but we really felt the pre-judgment even though they don’t know me and it was quite overwhelming,” the Mississippian explained. “Now I’m forgetting it as long as they give me my baby. Maybe Charles’s age will stop us from having children but I have an open mind, it may not work.”
Miracle and Charles’s love story is a powerful reminder that true love knows no bounds, not even age. Their journey together, filled with challenges and triumphs, showcases the beauty of commitment and the desire to build a future together.
“I know realistically I’ll be around longer than him so I try to live and have fun and experience as much as I can with him. We try to live it up,” Miracle gushed. “He’s my knight in shining armor.”
